The Virtual Community Warehouse (VCW)

The Virtual Community Warehouse is like a bottomless bucket of funds. The amount of resources in our communities is incredible... With just a little over 70 organisations in we have accumulated in excess of a million dollars of physical resources. There are over 2500 community organisations on the Sunshine Coast.

The Virtual Community Warehouse has value-added over $215,000 to the community sector in 12 months... that’s almost $18,000 a month through sharing existing resources. It is aiding community groups be more effective with limited resources… it is also helping to save our environment!

A consequence of competitive tendering is the underlying mistrust of other community organisations. The VCW facilitates the building of trust between workers and organisations. It has also helped to bring organisations together in collaboration on particular projects and events. It is truly inspiring.

The Virtual Community Warehouse has recruited a group of tradies that provide struggling charities, community organisations and families with backyard blitzes, renovations and something that they get a lot of calls for... moving house or premises. Community in action!

The mission of the Virtual Community Warehouse is to pierce our community’s conscience to inspire all to the realization that whatever resources we have is enough to make a difference... we can change what is!
